The concept of mobile bicycle services is not new to the bicycle industry, but it is one that has grown exponentially in the last few years. Owner/operator David Ricker first developed his foolish passion for bicycles and the idea for Pedalin’ Fools Mobile Bicycle Services more than 20 years ago while serving as a certified REI Master Technician.

Internet shopping was in its infancy, which meant the time was not quite right for such a business model. Growing popularity of web purchases and the consumer desire for convenience-based services have helped fuel the growth of mobile bicycle services. Let’s face it, we all want our retail goods at the lowest possible price and our stressful, busy lives have created the need for more convenience-based services.

His career in the bicycle industry began at REI, an outdoor retailer. It was here, through their detail oriented training program, that he quickly progressed from rookie assembler to a Barnett's Bicycle Institute certified Master Technician. It was also here that he cultured his “give the consumer more than they expect” approach to customer service.

​After his tenure as REI Master Technician, David went on to manage some of the premiere bicycle shops throughout the Merrimac Valley of Southern New Hampshire and the North Shore of Massachusetts. During that time he developed programs, such as a kids bike trade-in program that has gone on to become a national program for one of most popular brands in the bicycle industry.

It was also during his tenure as bicycle retail manager that David became certified as a Body Geometry Fit Technician.
